Protein A ELISA Kits
Protein A chromatography is a universal capture step for purification of therapeutic antibodies harboring an Fc domain. During this process, Protein A may leach from the column and remain tightly bound to the drug substance, necessitating an analytical assay to quantify remaining ligand and inform future purification strategies.
Cygnus Technologies offers several Protein A ELISA Kits for robust and sensitive detection of residual native Protein A, natural recombinant Protein A, and other unnatural recombinant Protein A ligands utilized in many commercially available Protein A chromatography resins.
Two formats of Protein A kits are available:
Cygnus legacy Protein A ELISA Kits (F050H, F400, F400Z) involve traditional sample preparation (boiling and centrifugation) to permanently dissociate natural or recombinant forms of Protein A ligands from drug substances prior to performing the assay.
Cygnus Protein A Mix-N-Go™ Kits (F600, F610, F740, F910, F950, F965, F1075) feature a streamlined protocol that replaces the sample boiling and centrifugation steps with a revolutionary single-step sample treatment procedure. These kits reduce the complexity of the assay and time to result while increasing the robustness of the method over traditional Protein A ELISAs.
